Raku Ichi Residences
The secrets that lie within
Presenting Raku Ichi, an exclusive development that celebrates the dedication and craft of soba master Tatsuru Rai.
To realise his vision, lead architect Tanabe Nobuaki worked with award-winning Design Haus Liberty to craft design elements that evoke the art of Hokkaido’s first people, the Ainu, with the residences tied together by Niseko’s first modern Japanese zen garden.
Channelling Tatsuru’s meticulous approach, and rooted in the cultural heritage of the Ainu, Hokkaido’s first people, the project has been brought to fruition by architect Tanabe Nobuaki.
Follow the story of how Tatsuru Rai came to Niseko and started a now legendary restaurant
Centred on nature
At its heart is a zen garden, evoking the surrounding winter landscape – the peaks of Annupuri and Yotei stood majestically above snow-blanketed fields and woods. Flanking this are the reimagined restaurant and residences, exhibiting an elegant and contemporary Japanese aesthetic, with extensive use of traditional materials, all accented by Ainu-inspired artwork and furnishings.
